PT Bayu Buana Gemilang (BBG) is one of the leading private companies in Indonesia’s downstream Natural Gas sector. Its main business is in trading and distribution of Natural Gas by pipeline.
Started the distribution network since 2003, now BBG has successfully developed 70 kilometers of gas pipe distribution network in West Java and East Java. With total capacity over 70 MMCSFD being operated and maintained by skilled and certified manpower.
PT Citra Nusantara Gemilang, Tbk. (CGAS) was established as a sister company to answer the challenge of distributing gas to demand areas not reached by pipelines by applying Compressed Natural Gas. CGAS became public company and held an Initial Share Offering through capital market in January 2024.
The greatest milestone was set in July 2024 when Sakura Indonesia Energy Co., Ltd. (Sakura) became a 45% shareholder of BBG. Sakura is a 50/50 joint venture company of LNG JAPAN and Toho Gas. The remaining 55% of BBG’s shares are owned by Green Energy Investment, which consists of its original shareholders. LNG JAPAN itself is a 50/50 joint venture between two leading Japanese trading companies, Sumitomo Corporation and Sojitz Corporation with over 40 years of experience upstream development, financing, marketing, trading, and shipping in global LNG industry. Toho Gas, established over 100 years ago, is a provider of natural gas and electricity to industrial and residential sectors, with a supply volume of approximately 330 mmsfd (3,370 million m3/year) to 3 million customers
